“Intellectual Property, Technology Law and Business Law,” by Tony Perkins of Bernstein Shur"
Speaker

Have you considered all of the basic legal issues involved in your business? What are the real world implications for failing to address one or more of the basics? For example, how do you develop and protect your Intellectual Property? What are the legal issues in growing your business from one or two people to a half dozen or more? Should you hire employees or use consultants? What are the key considerations in raising equity financing? And last, but certainly not least, how do you build a team of individuals that will help you identify these issues and implement the solutions?
Failure to properly address the legal basics and implement the solutions could have significant legal, financial and performance ramifications for your business. Tony Perkins will lead a discussion regarding these fundamental, but often misunderstood, “business basics.”

"Listening for Power, Influence, Confidence, Effect"
This round table discussion will center around helping you and your clients listen between the lines for maximum benefit. When prospects, clients or staff feel unheard, they feel undervalued, often then seeking the services of a competitor who values them, perhaps even someone less technically competent, but offering a better connection. Losing clients, key staff talent, or failing to gain clients can often be remedied by developing key listening skills. Listening and hearing - two very different concepts!
Less than 2% of the population has any formal training in active listening - yet 65% of our day involves listening. Many people consider themselves to be good, even great, listeners, but their self-assessment isn't wholly accurate. The brain can think 10x faster than the mouth can process words, so most people use the 'extra' time to second-guess what's coming next, to think about their answering response while missing important information, to interrupt the speaker, and to jump to wrong conclusions - in short, exhibiting poor listening behavior, while promoting themselves as good listeners!
Truly good listening requires effort, practice, training.
Skilled listeners are more powerful and influential, exude confidence and are far more effective in every aspect of their lives.
Join us for an interactive round table of listening skills development, practice, and training. Session participants will take away tools, tips, exercises, and best practices for immediate use, at home and/or in the workplace.
Skilled listeners get results!
