ACE ANNUAL MEETING Your attendance is requested! Time to review the past year (it was a unique year for sure!), and talk about the future of ACE and elect our next Board of Directors. Our Annual Meeting will be the first part of our presentation, followed by our guest presenter - Bill Benson, Executive Director of Boots 2 Roots.
Program Description:
Boots2Roots assists active-duty military transition to meaningful work in Maine while providing a pipeline of military talent to Maine employers. We accomplish this mission by working with active-duty military up to 12 months before they separate; providing transition coaching in tasks like resume writing and job interview skills. We also connect our "Teammates" with a network of businesses and business professionals in Maine with the intent of broadening their perspective on job opportunities and ultimately connecting them with their future employers. To date, we have assisted over 108 veterans find work in Maine in over 80 businesses from Berwick to Presque Isle.

Bill Benson Executive Director, Boots 2 Roots Colonel, US Army retired
Bill Benson spent 24 years on active duty in the United States Army, retiring as a Colonel in 2014. His service included 42 months deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Bill and his family then moved to Gorham, Maine where they owned and operated a small manufacturing business specializing in custom wood products. After successfully growing and selling his business, Bill went to work with Boots2Roots. At Boots2Roots, Bill is able to combine his passion for helping veterans with his experience as a business owner to maximize best outcomes for veterans and for businesses.
