Our Annual Meeting
There will be a short business meeting with election of officers followed by a panel of ACE members who will discuss successful tips, tools and techniques they use in their consulting practices.
Tips, Bits & Tools
ACE is an organization full of talented and experienced members. Each of our members know business tips, bits and tools that have made life easier - and their practice more effective! Following our Annual Meeting discussion, seven of our members will provide ideas to help you excel in your consulting practice. The pace for this one-hour session will be quick and information-packed!
Topic areas include:
- Tools and techniques to better organize, goal-set, and be more effective;
- Technique to work with clients for better decision-making;
- Helpful Hints on Using Your Voice Healthfully;
- Software applications for more effective project management and creating great graphics;
- Framework for more effective strategic planning
We may work be in different industries, but we all share similar challenges and opportunities in running a consulting business. This special meeting is designed to benefit all who join us, members and guests alike!

Roundtable:
Performing the Balancing Acts of Leadership
Leaders at all levels of an organization’s hierarchy face situations, problems, challenges and opportunities that do not conform to a “one size fits all” leadership style. This session introduces a conceptual framework, “the balancing acts”, that helps leaders fine tune their leadership approach and strategy to the situation at hand.
The Facilitator is:
Jeanne A.K. Hey is Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of New England in Biddeford, ME. Previously, she served as the Director of International Studies and Professor of Political Science at Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Bucknell University, she earned a PhD in political science from The Ohio State University. She has conducted research and taught university courses in Latin America, the Caribbean, Asia and Europe. She has served the University of New England during a time of great expansion in institutional mission and size.
Jeanne is an active member of the Council on Colleges of Arts and Sciences, the Higher Education Research Service (HERS), and Academic Impressions. She leads professional development seminars, workshops and one-on-one mentoring sessions in the areas of leadership development, the unique challenges of academic leadership, working with faculty, strategic planning and much more. She lives in Saco, ME, with her husband and two sons.
Follows the regular meeting and runs from 9:45 - 10:30. Optional.
The Facts...
The ACE regular meeting has networking, a buffet breakfast and a speaker. Guests are welcome.
Registrations (and registration cancellations) are required by June 12th, 2017. If you want to be included on the registration list at the meeting then you need to register by the due date.

Members: the $22 fee only works if you pay in advance. At the door, it is $28.
Cancellation - the meeting will be cancelled if Portland Schools are cancelled.
If you find you can't attend, please notify us by June 12th. After that date, we cannot refund or push forward.
